The Eat Retreat offers a residential programme that facilitates and supports guests while they make nutritional and lifestyle changes. The Eat Retreat is situated in a beautiful marine reserve near Muizenberg in Cape Town. Our approach focuses on people who face the challenges of insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, emotional eating and obesity. Our programme is designed to empower you and help you to take back control, and to teach you about the effects that food choices have on us.
You will have access to a host of professionals who are there to ensure that your every need is met, and every concern addressed. Compassion and understanding are key to our success and we strive to create a positive environment in which you can set and achieve your goals.
WHAT IS THE EAT RETREAT PROGRAMME
Our intimate programme accommodates a maximum of 8 guests.Your journey will begin with an assessment by either your own private health care practitioner or our consulting Integrative Physician, who will give you the all clear to get started.
Our LCHF* Dietician arms you with a sustainable eating plan that will become your roadmap to health. Along with this, we offer psychological/emotional support through our affiliated psychologist who will focus specifically on your health journey and the emotions that accompany this difficult change.
At the heart of the operation is our chef, Belinda-Jane, who will help you to eliminate sugar and refined carbohydrates from your diet with as little discomfort as possible by implementing a professionally structured eating plan incorporating “Real Food”. Belinda-Jane will be there to guide and advise you every step of the way. Her warm, happy and approachable manner makes for a natural and easy connection. She is interested in each individual and is delighted to welcome you into her kitchen where she can teach you about preparing meal plans and cooking in a healthier way.
Our manager, Gill has many years’ experience in caring for people on their weight loss journey. She feels very passionate about the importance of having a solid support structure in place while making these life-style changes. Her deep understanding of the process enables her to give comfort and guidance when necessary.
